Those Leland girls are tiny bundles of inspirations…little pint-sized muses for
the blissful inkslinger who lives inside me. Last night at our 1st Sunday DQ
night, I heard a LLG (little Leland girls) story that deserves its place under the
auspices of my “Out of the Mouth of Babes” series.
Troy, Sarah, and the girls were driving somewhere in the car when, out
of the blue, Elisabeth asked a random question.
Elisabeth: “Daddy, can we get a kitty on Friday?”
Troy: “No, Elisabeth. We can’t get a kitty on Friday.”
A few minutes of silence passed, so Troy assumed that the issue
wouldn’t be revisited for awhile. He realized his mistake when he
heard Elisabeth softly say:
Elisabeth: “Well, Daddy, we don’t have to get the kind that bites.
We can just get the kind that licks!”
Her sister, Abigail, ever helpful, solves the problem neatly by piping
up with this idea:
Abigail: “Why don’t we just get the plain kind? Then they won’t
bite or lick!”
