One of my recent homework assignments in counseling was to make a family tree, of sorts. My family tree is often very confusing and convoluted for those who don't live it every day. I decided to make a chart and well, I PAINTED a chart for my counselor. I don't think it is very readable in this photo I took, but it was fun to do. :)
Dear friend,
ReplyDeleteWe all have our ghosts and sceletons that weave their web around us and want to keep us tied in the past with them. Sometimes we just need to let the light on, sometimes open the windows of our soul wide open for what good there is in the world for us, and others we need to open the door and leave them behind.

Life has tought me that we must acknowledge our physical relatives, love on them and pray for them, and then, perhaps, make a new map, with those that have earned our love, friendship and affection. And this map of love, in the end of the day, is our family.
...
Sending love and hugs, and a prayer that Christ will be your best friend and Father in all that you do in life.
Irene,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your words. I am so thankful that people love me!
I guess that the map made sense since you made the comments you did. So there is hope that my counselor will understand, then? ;-P
I do have a really full and big spiritual family. I'm very blessed.
I appreciate you so much, Irene. Thank you for your friendship. <3
