This Valentine's Day was on a Monday this year. As Monday is a "stay at home" day for us here at 131, I decided to make a special dinner: a red-themed dinner. So, I made chicken cacciatore (from scratch--WOW!! that took 1-1/2 hours of prep time!) and a cinnamon/apple pie with a red hot heart melted into the top of it.
It was a delicious meal; however, I would like to make one suggestion for those of you who thought that the red hot heart seems like a good idea. Don't do it! The red hots melt together into a nearly unbreakable center piece to a otherwise very nice pie. The middle--where the red hot heart is located--is fairly well inedible. Just sayin'.
The photos are pretty self-explanatory. a) Chicken Cacciatore b) red hot apple pie, and c) Pop preparing to enjoy the above-mentioned pie. :)
